The cloud represents an opportunity for health care providers, giving organizations enhanced capabilities to meet their information technology goals.
UPMC is using cloud computing to enhance the health system’s IT capabilities, according to Chris Carmody, SVP, Enterprise Infrastructure, UPMC and President, ClinicalConnect Health Information Exchange.
“The technology that is available in the public cloud sector has really caught up to the perceived value,” said Carmody, who was a speaker at the Center for Connected Medicine’s Top of Mind for Top U.S. Health Systems 2018 Summit in Pittsburgh, Pa.
Carmody, who led a discussion with cybersecurity expert and Summit keynote speaker Gus Hunt, said during a separate interview that cloud technology is allowing UPMC to boost its cybersecurity posture more efficiently
