The inaugural Top of Mind for Life Sciences Summit, presented by UPMC Enterprises, brought together an elite group of life sciences leaders and biotech innovators for discussion, shared learning, and relationship building.
The invite-only event, held at the Center for Connected Medicine (CCM) at UPMC in September 2023, saw more than 70 experts and global leaders convene for two days of interactive panel discussions and networking.
Over the course of nine panel discussions, 34 speakers covered a wide range of topics, including the frontiers of oncology treatments, the role of AI in drug discovery, and science of aging, and advances in neuroscience and mental health treatments.
Key themes of the Top of Mind for Life Sciences Summit
While the panel topics were diverse, a few key themes emerged throughout the Summit:
- The transformative power and potential of data and data analytics to speed innovation and discovery and facilitate shifts in patient care.
- How health care and health care technology innovation can be meaningfully accelerated by engagement across stakeholder groups and disciplines.
- Financial models must ensure equitable and sustainable access to innovative treatments, alongside significant shifts in health care delivery and consumption.
