Michael A. Young, MHA, FACHE, is President and Chief Executive Officer of Temple University Health System (TUHS), a $2.2 billion academic health system dedicated to providing access to quality patient care and supporting excellence in medical education and research. The Health System consists of Temple University Hospital – Main Campus; TUH-Episcopal Campus; TUH Jeanes Campus; TUH-Northeastern Campus, TUH-Women and Families Campus, TUH-Chestnut Hill Hospital Campus; The Hospital of Fox Chase Cancer Center and Affiliates, an NCI-designated comprehensive cancer center; Temple Transport Team, a ground and air-ambulance company; Fairhill Community Physicians, a network of community-based specialty and primary-care physician practices; and Temple Faculty Practice Plan, Inc., TUHS’s physician practice plan comprised of more than 500 full-time and part-time academic physicians in 20 clinical departments. TUHS is affiliated with the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University (LKSOM).

An 879-bed non-profit acute care hospital. TUH Inc. includes a flagship campus in North Philadelphia adjacent to LKSOM, a Jeanes Campus in Northeast Philadelphia, and Episcopal and Northeastern campuses located within three miles of the main and medical
school campus. TUH-Main Campus provides a broad spectrum of primary, secondary, tertiary, and quaternary care to patients throughout the tri-state area and beyond. It is accredited as an Adult Level 1 Trauma Center by the Pennsylvania Trauma Systems Foundation and is a Regional Burn Center.

Mr. Young is a five-time CEO with more than three decades of proven leadership at institutions including Pinnacle Health System, in Harrisburg; Grady Memorial Hospital, in Atlanta; Erie County Medical Center, in Buffalo; and Lancaster General Hospital & Health System.

He earned his Bachelor and Master of Health Administration degrees from the University of Pittsburgh and is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
