Tracey Ryan
Vice President, Patient Access Service Line • UPMC
Tracey Ryan is Vice President, Patient Access Service Line at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC). In addition to her role leading patient access, she serves as the Vice President, UPMC Heart and Vascular Service Line.
With a background in nursing, Tracey has been navigating care delivery and coordination in a dynamic and ever-changing health care landscape for over three decades. In her current role, Tracey is responsible for providing strategic direction and leading transformational change across patient access processes, systems, infrastructure, and experience. Her work focuses on impacting the complexities of accessibility, acceptability and transforming the “front door” with an omni-channel approach to deliver convenient, simple, high-touch technology-enabled solutions to drive results and alignment.
In her position, Tracey collaborates with business units and system leaders to develop world class, consumer-centric culture, and sound business practices. She utilizes data to set direction and leverages technology to engage the voice of the patient and understand needs and expectations. This strategy fosters a patient centered culture while bridging clinical, innovation and technology to create the ideal patient journey, balanced with improving health equity, access to care and patient experience.
In her role as Vice President of the Heart and Vascular Service Line, Tracey oversees operations for an integrated network with over 400 adult and pediatric physicians and advanced practice providers at 60+ locations.
Passionate about donating her time, Tracey volunteers at community health screening events, supports local food pantries and animal shelters, and is the Chairperson for the 2023 Greater Pittsburgh American Heart Walk. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling, hiking, and spending time with family and her rescue pups.
