Katie Berlacher, MD

Director, Chief of Medicine Magee-Womens Heart Program, UPMC Magee-Womens Hospital

Dr. Katie Berlacher graduated from The Ohio State University for medical school and completed her internal medicine residency and cardiology fellowship at UPMC, joining faculty in 2012.  She earned her master’s degree in medical education shortly after.  She has served as the Program Director of the Cardiovascular fellowship program since 2015 and leads numerous educational efforts in both the residency and medical school, including serving as Associate Chief of Education for UPMC Heart Vascular Institute service line. Dr. Berlacher serves as an administrative leader in variety of capacities, including as Director of the Magee Womens Heart Program and Chief of Medicine at Magee Womens Hospital.  She is involved in both state and federal advocacy and policy initiatives as related to cardiac disease in women.  Dr. Berlacher is also the current chair for the American College of Cardiology’s Annual Scientific Sessions and regularly speaks about women’s cardiology, medical education, diversity and inclusion, health equity.
