Sunita Badola is the Head of Data Strategy and Partnerships, Biomarker Sciences and Technologies, Precision and Translational Sciences, at Takeda Pharmaceuticals in Cambridge, MA. She has a strong record of scientific innovation in the field of translational research, biomarker assay development, genomics, data strategy, capability build, and data partnerships with more than 26 years of experience in the biopharmaceutical industry.
She has been leading the efforts within oncology to streamline, standardize and drive key insights from translational data to support key programs in early and late pipeline.
For last 13 years at Takeda, she has been part of many different teams, Translational medicine, Data Science Institute, Global Computational Biology, and Oncology Therapeutic Area where she gained substantial experience in data analytics, genomics, clinical assay development, data management, and challenges with translational data utilization. Before Takeda, she worked at Amgen for five years where she developed the NGS platform to support oncology clinical programs. Before Amgen she worked at Millennium pharmaceuticals for seven years in the target ID and validation group.
Sunita earned her graduate degree in biochemistry from School of Medicine, Case Western Reserve University (CWRU), OH, in 1998. She earned her master’s in biotechnology with university gold medal from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Roorkee, India.
