About the Partners

Steering Committee

The Center for Connected Medicine is governed by a Steering Committee responsible for providing guidance and overall strategic direction for the Center. It is comprised of a group of high-level stakeholders representing each of the founding partners. The Steering Committee leverages the experiences, expertise, and insight of these key individuals who are committed to developing the Center’s strategic vision.

Steering Committee Members include the following:

Alcatel-Lucent - Jim White
Jim White is Vice President for Connected Hospitals with Alcatel-Lucent. He leads the firm’s e-Health Sensor Networking Framework to enable large-scale adoption of remote patient monitoring.

IBM - Alex Stein
Alex Stein is the Global Healthcare Solutions Strategy Manager at IBM. He works with strategic clients and business partners to develop solutions which leverage the breadth of IBM's capabilities.

UPMC - Stephen Boochever
Stephen Boochever is the Executive Vice President for Business Development of UPMC’s International and Commercial Services Division. He oversees UPMC’s strategic partnerships with industry, and commercialization of emerging technologies.

Verizon – Michael Ross
Michael Ross is an Area Vice President of Healthcare for Verizon Enterprise Services. In this role he is responsible for delivering enterprise solutions to the Payer and Provider segments.
